The Inverell Racecourse has a circumference of 1600 metres and has a home straight 400 metres long. The course is a specialist track consisting of many turns and has a long home straight. Inside barriers are an advantage for 1050 to 1200 metre starts.
The addition of the Battlers Cup to the program has necessitated a change to the distance of the Diggers Cup which in 2018 will be run over 1800 metres, a distance that has not been used since the course was reconstructed in the late 1990’ with the start located in the main straight.
