INVERELL TRAINERS SUCCESS CONTINUES

Trainer Dean Smith goes back to back over the weekend. Saturday at Inverell saw MAGIC MIA win the Blue Gem Contracting Maiden Plate 1400m in style with Jodi Worley in the saddle. On Sunday he travelled to Lismore with CREME DE VIN teaming up with Luke Rolls to take victory in the Lismore Workers Club Class 1 Maiden Plate over 2110 metres.

Trainer Todd Payne has already chalked up 2 wins this month. New comer to the stable HEY WAYNE won by 2 lengths at Armidale in the Williams Machinery CG&E Maiden Handicap 1100 metres, a great ride by Apprentice Ms Madeline Owen. On Saturday at his home track NEWCASTLE DANCER had a fairytale ending to his 10 year racing career winning by nearly 6 lengths in the Stevens Contracting Benchmark 50 Handicap over 1100 metres. NEWCASTLE DANCER has always been an Inverell crowd favourite and it was an exciting but emotional win for Racegoers.

Trainer Mark Stewart collected a win with WINE O’CLOCK in the Fidelity Capital Feed ‘N’ Win Class 1 Handicap 1400m at Grafton. Just over a week later he teamed up with Jockey Raymond Spokes again and WINE O’CLOCK finished 2nd in the Armidale Maria River Cattle Company Class 2 Handicap over 1400 metres. At Saturdays home meeting THE FRINGE took on the Blue Gem Contracting Maiden Plate 1400m finishing in the 3rd place.

Trainer Nathaniel Scott teamed up with local Jockey Scott Sweedman with REAL APPEAL in the Sign Print Stitch Benchmark 50 HANDICAP 1400 metres finishing in 3rd place. A good ride by Ms Casey Waddell saw DERBY STAR finish in 2nd place in the Stevens Contracting Benchmark 50 Handicap over 1100 metres, making it an Inverell Quinella.

Trainer Brodie Fenton picked up his second career win with victory in the Ehsman Kelpies Stud Benchmark 50 Handicap 950m with LOVE SICK. The next run saw LOVE SICK collect 2nd place in the Armidale Cup 12/12/21 Benchmark 50 Handicap 1100 metres.

Trainer Wayne Oakenfull’s HYLAND BAY turned it on and secured the win in the Caretakers Maiden Plate 1300 metres at Moree.

Trainer Shane Edmonds MAROKAWA came back in good form from a spell finishing in 3rd place in the Carlton Dry Open Handicap 1000 metres at Tamworth.Summer looms and we look forward to seeing some new stable additions take to the track and wish the Trainers every continued success
